Meagan Lang awarded National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship
Following a nation-wide competition, GWAstro student Meagan Lang has
been awarded a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship.
These prestigious awards provide three years of tuition, stipend and
travel support for graduate study leading to research-based doctoral
degrees.
NSF Graduate Fellowship applications are reviewed by panels of disciplinary and interdisciplinary scientists, mathematicians, and engineers and other professional experts, graduate education. Applicants are ranked based on the strength of their academic record, their proposed plan of research, the description of previous research experience, references, Graduate Record Examination (GRE) General and Subject Test scores. Awards are made to those that the NSF expects will become knowledge experts who can contribute significantly to research, teaching, and innovations in science and engineering. Award recipients are expected to be crucial to maintaining and advancing the nation's technological infrastructure and national security as well as contributing to the economic well being of society at large.
